Sales Executive, AMBA & BGA

The Association of MBAs (AMBA) & Business Graduates Association (BGA) is now looking for an experienced, confident and enthusiastic salesperson to support the Commercial department across a number of our revenue generating avenues, namely delegate and sponsorship sales.

The Sales Executive will report to the Head of Commercial Relations and have a natural curiosity to understand the sector its challenges and an ability to build relationships and experience in both B2C & B2B sales. They will collaborate closely with the Head of Commercial Relations, Events team and the Marketing and Communications team to;

  • Support event and outreach strategy
  • Shape content in line with industry trends and needs
  • Drive event engagement and registrations 
  • Identify and engage with best-in-breed solution providers to support Business Schools
  • Be a source of value and insight to Business Schools across both the AMBA & BGA networks

Job Title: Sales Executive
Reporting to: Head of Commercial Relations
Department: Commercial Department
Job Purpose Summary: The Sales Executive will support all revenue generating departments across the business – Events, Commercial sponsorship, the BGA & AMBA school’s teams:

  • to drive delegate numbers at our Conferences & Events
  • to gather industry and market intelligence
  • to identify & grow sponsorship opportunities for both schools and student & graduate membership
  • to support the Head of Commercial Relations in identifying, engaging, and pitching solution providers/vendors for new business

The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing AMBA’s & BGA’s suite of events including informing content creation at these events and increasing revenues across several products. The Sales Executive will be responsible for building long lasting relationships with our customers and will be motivated by promoting the business, building our database of contacts, generating new sponsorship & schools membership leads and achieving record breaking delegate attendance at our events.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Build long lasting and enduring relationships with our Business School leaders, to increase delegate bookings at our Conferences and Events
  • Produce targeted telesales campaigns for several different products – Events, Commercial opportunities & potential AMBA & BGA schools’ network targets. Work with the Marketing team on e-mail campaigns to all targeted schools and delegates
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Business school sector, building a comprehensive awareness of key market trends to inform content strategy for AMBA & BGA events & thought leadership vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate and regularly update records and contacts within the organisation’s CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) ensuring all data is handled in line with AMBA & BGA’s GDPR & data protection policies.
  • Record, shape and grow pipelines against each Conference/Event & maintain an effective chase and tracking system for enquiries
  • Provide a two-weekly schedule of planned activities in summary report format and achieve sales activities within specified timescales as directed by the Head of Commercial Relations
  • Initiate, facilitate, motivate, and monitor effective communication channels within AMBA & BGA, liaising with all AMBA & BGA departments to maximise sales opportunities and exchange information to develop an all-encompassing commercial approach
  • Attend client events when required promoting AMBA & BGA events and providing a comprehensive report post-event
  • Maintain a current and accurate knowledge of competitor products, and handle objections, promote relevant AMBA & BGA benefits
  • Maintain a calendar of competitor events, keeping abreast of competitor activity and feeding back accordingly
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The successful candidate will be tactful, diplomatic, resilient and enthusiastic and possess the administrative ability to support AMBA & BGA’s events programme & Commercial team. They will demonstrate a willingness to learn about AMBA & BGA & to grow their knowledge of the Business school sector. They will have a proven track record in consultative sales gained within a commercial environment,

  • Strong evidence of customer relationship building and development record – with previous experience in a customer facing role essential

Location: 25 Hosier Lane (Travel to conferences as required and when safe to do so)
Hours of Work: 35 Hours Per Week
