Welcome to BGA’s Future Leaders Case Competition Hub, where you can learn all that you need to know about the competition.

Entrants to the BGA Future Leaders Case Competition have an opportunity to win the $3,000 USD cash prize, elevate their professional profile and gain international recognition amongst peers, educators and potential employers.

The BGA Future Leaders Case Competition provides current BGA student and graduate members an opportunity to showcase their business acumen by solving a time relevant global business problem with a focus on ensuring sustainability and responsible management practices are at the forefront of the solution. 

The Case Study used in this competition can be found in BGA’s student and graduate members platform. Within the members platform, BGA members can also begin their submission.

What’s in it for you?

  • The top skills employers are looking for from business graduates are changing in importance. Complex problem solving and critical thinking will remain highly important throughout the next five years, however in addition to this, creativity will become the third highest skill in demand according to the World Economic Forum‘s Future of Jobs Report. Creativity is the ability to think about a task or a problem in a new or different way, or the ability to use the imagination to generate new ideas. All members who submit an entry, will develop and gain experience in all three of these areas which you will be able to demonstrate in job applications.

Eligibility criteria

  • Business students currently studying a business degree at a BGA member institution, at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Business graduates that have obtained a degree from a BGA validated or accredited institution
  • Entrants must be current BGA student or graduate members, meaning entrants have successfully registered for membership and have gained access to the BGA member area.*
  • If selected as a finalist, entrants must attend a final competition round via secure video link in February 2022.

  • Submissions are to be submitted individually, we will not accept any group entries

Competition format

There are two rounds in this competition: 

  • Round One
    A written submission of the case competition must be submitted using the links provided in BGA’s member area between 1 June 2021 and 15 November 2021. Entries will be judged by a panel of selected judges with finalists announced in February 2022.

  • Round Two
    Shortlisted finalists will be invited to complete a short presentation to the judging panel via video link. During this presentation, finalists will detail their methodology and highlight key considerations in relation to sustainable business practice, used throughout the submission to arrive at their solution. Each presentation will take place in the format of 10-minute presentation, followed by a 10 minute question and answer session.

BGA Future Leaders Case Competition Workshops

To support BGA students and graduates with their submissions into the BGA Future Leaders Case Competition 2022, in partnership with Austral Education Group, BGA will deliver four free-to-attend workshops.

  • Session One: Introduction to the BGA Future Leaders Case Competition, with BGA and Banco Regional
  • Session Two: Paraguay, its economy, its financial system, and sustainability initiatives
  • Session Three: Related industry specialist industry speaker session
  • Session Four: Q&A Session with Banco Regional
